SUSTAINABILITY
How sustainable is ulin wood and what makes it an environmentally responsible choice?

Ulin is uniquely sustainable due to its extraordinary lifespan. As an incredibly dense, slow-growing hardwood, its natural Class 1 durability means it lasts 3 to 4 times longer than ordinary softwoods. This radically extends the architectural replacement cycle, drastically lowering long-term resource consumption and keeping carbon safely stored within your building's framework.
We do not source from virgin forests. Our premium Ulin wood planks, beams, and logs are meticulously salvaged from decommissioned bridges, historical ports, and traditional structures in Kalimantan. Every piece is legally verified through SVLK-certified channels, ensuring total trace-ability and compliance with Indonesian environmental laws.

A fully integrated, circular manufacturing system
True environmental stewardship requires efficient production. Operating from our own specialized factory, our advanced machinery calibrates reclaimed wood with industrial precision to minimize errors and material loss.
Embracing a strict zero-waste approach, we ensure that absolutely nothing goes to waste. Any offcuts generated during the planing or profiling stages are carefully sorted and repurposed to create architectural timber screens, structural battens, or custom furniture pieces.
DURABILITY
A lifespan of 30+ years with minimal maintenance

Ulin, also known as Borneo Ironwood, is one of Indonesia’s most durable hardwoods. It features natural Class 1 durability and is highly resistant to weather, termites, rot, and marine borers. This exceptional resilience makes it perfect for Bali’s humid, coastal climate and ideal for both structural and architectural use.
Externally, Ulin has a lifespan of over 30 years and requires minimal maintenance. Because this slow-grown wood is extremely long-lasting, its replacement cycle is 3 to 4 times longer than standard softwoods. By significantly extending the life of your building materials, we actively promote a "use less, use better" approach to sustainable construction.
